Midnight Commander is a visual shell much like a file manager, only with way more features, like the ability to ftp, view tar, zip files, and poke into RPMs for specific files. mc runs in text mode, but also includes mouse support if you are running GPM. gmc is the GNOME version.

- Subshell support for SGI
tcshmay not work; ifmchangs at startup try running "mc -u".- mc runs best inside
xterm. If you want to run it from withinxwsh(perhaps because you want to specify-cfor color support) try invokingxwshas follows:xwsh -noscrollbar -xrm 'xwsh*keyMapping1:' -e mc -xAdd "-u", "-c" or other options after "-x". TheAltkey probably won't work; useEscemulation instead.
