This is the latest version of a report on an experiment to evaluate
various fax modems. NOTE THE ABOVE COPYRIGHT. In particular, if I
find this paper published anywhere or the results used in any vendor
literature without my written approval I will pursue the matter...
That said, you may freely distribute the paper according to the above
restrictions.
All the vendors whose modems were evaluated have been provided a copy
of this report. This version reflects the (lack of) feedback I have
received from them.
This directory includes the following:
paper.ps.gz PostScript of the report encoded with GNU gzip
paper.ps.Z PostScript of the report encoded with compress
and some stuff that's probably interesting only to a few folks:
appA.ps.gz PostScript of Appendix A encoded with GNU gzip
appA.ps.Z PostScript of Appendix A encoded with compress
cover.ps page 1 of the test facsimile (Appendix B)
text.ps page 2 of the test facsimile (Appendix B)
nurse.ps page 3 of the test facsimile (Appendix B)
Please send comments on the report to sam@sgi.com.
